Bringing AI into your business: on your own with ChatGPT, a freelancer, an agency or a big consulting firm?

Updated October 27, 2026 · NouCodi

In short: if you just want your team to write and summarize faster, start on your own with ChatGPT or Claude on business accounts. If you want a specific process to stop being done by hand, a freelancer works when you already know what to build; a specialized agency, when you first need to find where the savings are; and a big consulting firm, when the project is corporate and has the budget for it.

1. On your own with ChatGPT or Claude

The cheapest and fastest way to start: drafting, summarizing, translating and brainstorming. The limit comes when you want a process to run on its own, because that means connecting software, testing with real cases and maintaining it. Essential: use business accounts and set written rules on which data can go in.

2. A freelancer

Good value when you know exactly what you want built, such as "create invoices from Stripe automatically." The risk is automating the wrong task or a step that shouldn't exist, and depending on one person for maintenance.

3. A specialized agency

Makes sense when you're not sure where to start: it first measures how your team works, calculates the savings of each improvement, then implements what pays off most. Always ask to see the savings math before a quote, for a security review, and for accounts to stay in your name.

4. A big consulting firm

Brings methodology, large teams and backing for transformation projects at large enterprises. For a small or midsize business it is usually out of proportion in price and timeline.

Five questions to choose

  1. Do I already know which process I want to improve and what it costs me today?
  2. Who will maintain it when something changes?
  3. Will they show me the calculated savings before I pay for the project?
  4. Do the accounts and data stay in my name?
  5. Have they done something similar in my industry, and can they show it?

NouCodi is a specialized agency: we start with an AI audit that measures the savings of each improvement, and we focus on accounting firms, engineering consultancies and construction companies.
